Time to embrace the London Stadium!
I've been to The London Stadium and have to say i was underwhelmed to say the least as im sure many others were. Now we have to put those feelings behind us, there is no way back to Upton Park so like it or not this is our home. Lets embrace it and turn it into a cauldron of hostility where visiting players and fans fear to tread.

COME ON YOU FUCKING IRONS ⚒⚒⚒⚒

Re: Time to embrace the London Stadium!
The London stadium would have been a massive white elephant. It is very much akin to the Millennium Dome.

The Dome is leased
The London Stadium is leased

The Dome redeveloped into a multi-functional entertainment complex.

The London Stadium - redeveloped into a multi-functional entertainment complex.

The issue here is that you already have a well established entertainment complex.

had West ham not inquired about the use of this stadium, it would fast become run down and the Olympic legacy a farce where the flagship stadium just becomes a memory.

So for all those who moan about the the taxpayers investment the very least is that there is regular returning revenue and the political egg on face reduced.

What could happen?

West Ham gets bought out and the buyer buys the stadium from the GLA and redevelops it - Maybe in a 100 years time that would happen.

West Ham find some land to build their own stadium - more than likely becoming the new MK Dons due land values in London.

Current owners to stump up the cash to redevelop to bring the fans closer to the pitch. - No Chance.

Leave it as it is.

you dont need to be Mystic Meg to know what it will be.....

Exactly!

It would take YEARS to get across the line politically, before the design and planning process could take place, which would take YEARS, and then the build, which would take YEARS!!

His main point is right - it should have been a football stadium that could be converted into an athletics stadium for a fortnight. That comes back to the arrogance and stupidity of Coe and chums.

Can't argue with that.

Can you imagine the lawsuits and public enquiries though?

Would take longer than a new runway at heathrow to get approved.

Christ. More camp threats from fans to stop going because they don't like this or they don't like that...

Well, fucking go then. Leave West Ham United to the proper fans who want to support their team.

Some of the moaners have LOOOOONNNNNGGGGG old journeys back to whatever backward, pagan COUNTRY BUMPKIN village they reside in so it makes sense for these lot not to bother at all... Maybe spend your weekends chasing cheese rolls down hills; chewing nettle leaves and burning wickermen instead...

Pedro.
But the East Stand doesn't cover the track, only a few lanes of it. Is there a technical reason why even with the temporary seats they all have to be curved? (corners closest to the pitch). If it was straight that would not affect the rake or shallowness would it?
